Marbella East

Marbella East is the coastal area of Marbella Municipality, stretching from Rio Real on the outskirts of Marbella to Cabopino.

Beachside urbanizations and communities:

Bahia de Marbella: Exclusive beachside urbanization, 24-h security, most properties are apartments, but you do also have a few townhouses or semi-detached villas, including some of the most prestigious grand villas.

Los Monteros: Exclusive beachside urbanization with majority of villas, from bungalows on smaller plots to large villas on bigger plots. 24-h security on site.

Hosts the 5 star Hotel Los Monteros with beach club Cabaña Beach.

Alicate Playa: Alicate Playa is situated on the beachside between Los Monteros and Las Chapas Playa, it is a newly built urbanization of apartments for mostly holiday makers.

Las Chapas Playa: Beachside urbanization with a mix of apartments and villas. Walking distance to restaurants and cafés. Popular area to live in, at short distance to Marbella Town center. Las Chapas Playa hosts an international school.

Costabella: Beachside urbanization, one of the oldest on the Costa del Sol dating back to the early 60s. Most properties are small bungalow villas on smaller plots, within walking distance of most facilities. The beach at Costabella has quite a few typical restaurants, including Bono’s Beach Club.

Golden Beach Elviria: A given name, its real name is El Real de la Zaragoza. One of the oldest beachside urbanizations along the coast, consisting originally of small bungalow villas, now also mixed with large villas. The area now hosts 5-star Hotel Da Vincci Estrella del Mar.

Marbesa is a villa area on the beachside, consisting of a good mix of bungalows on smaller plots and larger villas on bigger plots. It is a family friendly area and one of the most appreciated villa areas on the coast. Marbesa has a selection of lovely beach restaurants along the beach, including walking distance to amenities.

Carib Playa: Is built together with Marbesa, it offers additionally quite a few typical Spanish style townhouses.

Artola Baja: Small villa area between Carib Playa and Cabopino.

Cabopino: Cabopino consists of only 3 rows of semi-detached and detached villas, including a selection of apartments around the secluded and picturesque Marina. Cabopino is popular for its restaurants and beautiful sandy beach.

Mountainside urbanizations and communities:

Rio Real: Rio Real hosts the 5-star Rio Real Golf Hotel, the properties are of good standard divided between apartments, semi-detached and detached villas. Rio Real can boost them for having Spain’s ever first golf course with 18 holes, and it is situated at only 2 km from Marbella Town center.

Los Altos de Marbella: Developing area above the Hospital Costa del Sol, offering breath taking sea views from most properties. You find many building plots for villas in this area. The properties are mostly luxurious villas and good quality apartments.

Santa Clara: Santa Clara is a golf community with clubhouse facilities, 24-h security on site. The vast majority of the properties are semi-detached villas of good standard. The urbanization is sought after and quite residential with only 4 km to Marbella city centre.

El Rosario: One of the two centers in Marbella East (the other one being Elviria), with most facilities on site, including El Casco Tennis Club, one of the most reputed on the coast. Family orientated area. Nearly all properties are villas. El Rosario climbs quite steeply, offering really nice sea views from quite a few of the properties.

Bosquemar: Built together with El Rosario, the majority of the properties are bungalow villas on smaller plots.

Ricmar and Las Lomas de Las Palmas: Older urbanization in the middle of the woods and bordering the open protected area to the North, the 2 areas built together mainly consists of bungalow villas and a few 2 larger villas.

Elviria is the main center in Marbella East and is situated approx. 10 km East of Marbella city centre, offering a full range of services, including doctor, dentist, amenities, hairdressers, hardware store, pharmacy, 3 smaller commercial centers with a variety of restaurants shops and supermarkets. The properties are a good mix of apartments and villas and a few semi-detached houses.

Schools: Elviria hosts Spanish public schools and the English International College.

Hotels: 5-star hotels Don Carlos with Beach club Nikki’s Beach, 5-star Hotel Estrella del Mar with Beach club Estrella del Mar with Spa facilities.

La Mairena: La Mairena is situated approx. 7 – 8 minutes in car above Elviria and is an area consisting mostly of apartments and luxurious villas. Many properties up here offer excellent sea views and tranquility, even with extensive areas protected by Unesco. You find here quite a few building plots, all offering amazing views.

La Mairena hosts 2 international schools, tennis club and a 9-hole par 3 golf course, and 3 restaurants.

Hacienda Las Chapas: Residential up-market villa urbanization with mainly large villas on big plots.

La Reserva de Marbella: A good mix of apartments and townhouses, a good mix of people living permanently and holiday makers. The area hosts a few restaurants and has an OpenCor supermarket open all year.
