The distance to Nueva Andalucia and the coast is approx. 6 km. To the picturesque village of Istan approx. 9 km.
The municipality of Istán sits halfway between the coast and the Sierra de las Nieves mountains, and it is partly within the Nature Reserve of the same name, declared a Biosphere Reserve. The Río Verde runs through its territory, traversing exceptional scenery before reaching the Concepción Reservoir.
